University of Barisal
University of Barisal ((ベンガル語:বরিশাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়) also known as Barisal University or simply BU), is a public university located in Barisal, a city in southern Bangladesh. 〔(বরিশাল বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় )〕 It is the only general public university in Barisal division and the country's 33rd public university. It was established in 2011 and started educational activities on 25 January 2012. The university offers degrees in undergraduate levels. There are eighteen academic departments under six faculties.
==Location==
BU is situated in the district of Barisal under Barisal Division. It is located at Karnakathi on the eastern bank of the Kirtonkhola river beside Barisal-Patuakhali highway about 2 kilometers from the center of Barisal City. The university has also a city campus located beside Barisal Zilla School.
